Retreat FAQ's

2020 Bay Area
What time does the retreat start and end?

Echoes of Worth begins Friday, January 17, at 5:30pm. The retreat concludes on Sunday, January 19 at 3:00pm.

Where do I meet the group for the retreat?

Each attendee is responsible for their own transportation to an from the event. Many parishes opt to carpool for the event. Parents also drive their children to the Retreat. Group buses are welcome to join us but please notify Sarah Landers in advance info@echoesofworth.com if this is the case.

The group will gather at Mission Springs Conference Center.  Park in the RV parking lot (as you come in over the gate look for the signs for Echoes of Worth). You will walk across the bridge toward the Worship Center (look for the registration table).

What should I bring/pack with me?

Please bring necessary clothes, toiletries, and outerwear for the weekend, a sleeping bag, pillow, flashlight for evenings, and reusable water bottle.  Should you desire, you are welcomed to bring a journal or personal Bible.
Note: Clothes should be comfortable for sitting and moving around.  If participants are wearing clothing that is deemed too revealing or inappropriate teens will be asked to change. Two weeks before the Retreat, a formal email will be sent with information and a What to Bring list.

What is the staff to teen ratios?  What are the staff qualifications?

Per diocesan requirements, there will be a staff to teen ratio of at least one staff member for every ten participants.  The coordinators team is made up of paid, parish staff members (Pastoral Staff, Directors of Religious Education, Youth Ministers) and volunteers.  The staff members are active members of their local parishes, trained in Theology of the Body by our in-house guru, over 21, and have met all diocesan safety training.  In general, they’re all around swell people!

If I have a food allergy or dietary preference how and when do I communicate this?

Please be sure to note any food allergies or dietary needs on your medical form portion of the Echoes of Worth Waiver Form at time of registration.

What if I have medications I need to bring?

All medication should be brought to the retreat in a labeled Ziploc bag with clear dosage instructions.  The medicine must be given to the retreat coordinators at time of check-in.  Medication & dosage requirements must be noted at time of registration on your medical form.

Is there a number I can call in case of emergency while my teen is on retreat?

Yes, 831-335-9133 is the main number to the retreat center.  This number should be used during business hours (8am – 5pm).  After hours emergencies can be called in to Sarah Landers, Operations Coordinator, 408-705-7023.  Note: There is VERY limited cell phone service at the retreat center.  Last year little to no phone calls were received, however text messages were able to come through.
